Chelmsford Star is a co-operative society, which means it is owned by its members and we reinvest our profits back to them. We also follow strict ethical rules. There are many different co-ops all over the UK, and ours operates independently and only within Essex.

We employ approximately 800 colleagues across Co-op food shops, Quadrant department stores, Co-op travel agents and Co-op funeral directors. Our Head Office, based in Chelmsford, covers functions as diverse as administration, maintenance, finance and member events.
