Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society Ltd was established in 1867, following a meeting of workers from a local ironworks, 23 years after the founding of the first Co-operative Society. We began trading in a small shop on Tindal Street, Chelmsford, and later merged with the Braintree and West Essex Co-operative in the late 1960s.
The Society provides goods and services throughout Mid Essex to both members and customers. Our family of businesses includes food, travel, funerals, and department stores.
We offer our colleagues the following benefits:
- 28 days of annual leave (including bank holidays, pro-rated).
- Auto-enrollment pension scheme.
- Colleague discount across the Society divisions.
- Flexible working hours.
- Death in Service Benefit.
- Free tea and coffee during breaks.
Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society Ltd. is committed to ensuring that our recruitment process is as fair and inclusive as possible for everyone.
